Valentine's Day at The Irish Inn

Tomorrow another happy couple will marry at The Irish Inn.  The weather is milder, and it has been a fun and joyous weekend here.  Two husbands surprised their wives with a deluxe overnight stay here, which started out with a drive to see a grandchild.  Then they continued on to tour Garden of the Gods and dine at Morello's in Harrisburg, Illinois.  The wives thought it was getting quite late and that the drive home would be difficult in the dark, so the husbands said, "Why don't we just spend the night somewhere?"  Knowing that most places in Southernmost Illinois would be booked out well ahead for Valentine's weekend, the women wondered where they would end up.  Little did they know that their husbands had arranged for the Kells Room and Lady Lavery's Boudoir at The Irish Inn!  There were chocolate covered strawberries made by one of the men, sparkling grape juice, apple wine from Shawnee Winery, strawberry wine from Hogg Hollow, beautifully boxed hand-made chocolates from The Chocolate Factory, and wee teddy bears who said "I Love You!"  This morning these two romantic couples joined the couple to be married for a full Irish breakfast.  The element of surprise is a wonderful thing!  This photograph is by Donald Kelderman, and is of the California king-sized bed in Lady Lavery's Boudoir, which features seven layers of bliss!
