2011 came in with some cold yet beautiful days. We have been going out on lots of trail rides as well as having guest that are happy just getting away from the business of life. Relax on the porch with a good book, while the outdoor cats vie for the lap of thier favorite person. The rye grass is in full glory, so green abounds in the yards and pastures. The horses are in the barn durring the day and play out in the pastures at night. If you wish to walk thru the barn and say hi to the horses, ginger snap cookies are a barn treat that can be placed in the feed buckets while you are making new friends.( Please NO hand feeding, it is bad training.) We have 19 horses that are currently calling the barn home, ranging from beginer to advanced level.
February is going to be a real treat, with Valentines Day and Presidents Day giving many 3 day weekends. Don't let this "short" month pass you by without getting in a little bit of fun and R&R. March is also a pleasant time to take a break and get away for a night or two. With the start of Daylight Savings and Spring, the days will be mild and great for cooking out at the fire pit. The gardens will be growing back with fresh blooms and the birds will be nesting in the birdhouses scattered around the trees.
