Fishin' is hot at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia!
Our delightful guests Pat and Tim stayed with us last week and caught their limit of Striper at Smith Mountain Lake!

On Friday they went on a fishing charter with Captain Todd at The Shad Taxi (click here for Fishing reports.)

Pat and Tim came back with a huge bag of filleted Striped Bass and could not praise Captain Todd enough! They said the other boats fishing Smith Mountain Lake seemed to gravitate toward Captain Todd as they knew he would land the fish. HE DID!
Pat was thrilled with some of the larger Striper that they returned to the water to breed, and took home the smaller tastier fish. She sent some photos so I could share their fun with y'all!
Smith Mountain Lake is about boating, swimming, sailing, picnicking and lest anyone forget FISHING!
Smith Mountain Lake is a very healthy large lake, we have ahydroelectric dam owned and operated by AEP. The lake was dammed in 1960. We currently have televised bass tournaments at Smith Mountain Lake as well as wake-board and other recreational water tournaments, wine festivals, vintage boat shows and plenty of other activities!
Smith Mountain Lake is Virginia's second largest lake with 500 miles of shoreline. There is a state park on the shores of the lake as well as a few restaurants and marinas.
