Happy ThanksLiving from The Claiborne House B&B

RECIPE FOR A HEALTHY LIFE

Happy ThanksLiving from The Claiborne House B&B - Do you have an attitude of gratitude?
Is your thankfulness a once a year event, mandated by a proclamation? Or should it be a way of life? Thanksliving.

Thankfulness for the good things in life is easy, but what about being thankful IN ALL circumstances?
Thankful for puppy dog kisses (Junie B Jones Assistant Innkeeper at The Claiborne House)
Thankful for fun and laughter at The Claiborne House
Thankful for my family, the Innkeepers at The Claiborne House
What about all the complaining? Do you find yourself complaining about little irritations in your day to day business?

Do you complain after eating a hearty meal that there are dirty dishes to clean? This really is how we as Americans tend to be these days.  Did you know that every single minute of every single day 30 people starve to death in our world? Did you know that only 3% of the water in our world is fit to drink, and most of that within our United States?  How do those dishes, washed in that pure drinkable water that we just let run down the drain sound about now?

Have you ever met or known a thankful person? What it is about that person that is immediately identifiable and attractive?  I will say they not only appear to be, but are a happier person.  They are filled with joy and seem to have a healthier life.  What is their secret?

William Shakespeare wrote:

"I hate ingratitude more in a man
than lying, vainness, babbling, drunkenness,
or any taint of vice whose strong corruption
inhabits our frail blood."

Philippians 2:14 (NIV) says:
Do everything without complaining or arguing."

How is this possible?  Let's give this Recipe for a Healthy Life a try...let's take it as baby steps:             Step 1)  Start out by being thankful. Give thanks in all things, it would be absurd to be thankful for bad things, but we can always be thankful "IN" all things.  Give it a shot. It's easier than you think.

Here are a couple for you from your innkeeper "I AM THANKFUL I AM NOT A TURKEY THIS WEEK!" and "I AM THANKFUL I DO NOT GET ALL THE GOVERNMENT I PAY FOR!"
