A Perfect Blue Ridge Day in Virginia!

Casting Call
Cast
your reel in an outdoor lovers' paradise. In the shadows of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, you'll find trophy sized fish in the many lakes, reservoirs, rivers
and streams that dot the countryside. Fish where the pros fish -- Smith Mountain
Lake is the site of a nationally acclaimed Bassmasters Tournament. Or try your
luck on one of the peaceful rivers and streams of the Roanoke Valley, many of
which are stocked for trout season. Two great websites can help you find the
perfect place to cast: www.fishvirginiafirst.com
and www.roanokeoutside.com.

Savor a taste of the Blue Ridge
More than 200 years ago, Thomas
Jefferson knew that the crisp mountain air and fertile soil of the Blue Ridge
Mountains made ideal conditions for growing grapes. The Roanoke Valley boasts
several award-winning wineries. All are family owned and offer tours and
tastings. Many host special events, festivals and concerts. For a complete
list, visit the winery page of our website. From cabernets to pinot noirs,
you'll definitely want to offer a toast to Blue Ridge Mountain wineries. www.visitroanokeva.com.
