May 9-27: Bluegrass and BBQ Festival at Silver Dollar City theme park. IBMA calls this the "Bluegrass Event of the Year". Award-winning favorites to rising stars. Scheduled performances include Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, Missouri Boatride, Kruger Brothers, The Grascals, and many more.

May 10: "Roots and Boots Tour with Aaron Tipin, Sammy Kershaw, and Joe Diffie at RFD-TV Theatre.

May 16-20: Armed Forces Remembrance Days - Special salutes and activities for active duty military, Veterans and their families. Veterans are eligible for military discounts at Cameron's Crag during this event.

This live, two-day auction, includes more than 250 consignments, including muscle, sports, custom, antique, and classic automobiles. The Branson Collector Car Auction, presented by Jim and Kathy Cox, is one of the top collector car auctions in the country and is regularly featured in Hemmings Motor News, the bible of car collecting. More than 5,000 collectors and car enthusiasts are expected to attend.

We love the people. We enjoy the stories, reliving memories and helping people find their dream car," said Cox.

The public is invited to attend. General admission tickets are $10 for a one-day pass or $15 for a two-day pass. Prospective bidders are encouraged to register in advance.

Discovery Channel films Reality TV Pawn Shop series in Branson MO

According to the website for High Noon Entertainment, a reality TV series filmed at Branson Pawn Shop will air this summer with at least eight episodes underway.

Branson Pawn Shop (the working title for the series) revolves around Branson Pawn Shop and the people who come to the shop looking to make a deal. The shop is located in downtown Branson on the corner of Main and Commercial Streets.

What sets Branson Pawn Shop apart is that prospective customers who are confident about the worth of the item they are offering can earn more money by competing against pawn shop staff in a specialized trivia game. The wide variety of items brought in by prospective customers is also part of the appeal for the new series. "The pawn shop personnel not only buy and sell jewelry, electronics and furs -- they've also been known to take in cars, animals, antiques, currency, appliances, memorabilia, musical instruments and everything in between. Think of it like the History Channel's Pawn Stars with a twist."

The High Noon website includes a casting call for the show which has already begun filming. Persons interested in being on the show are encouraged to contact the producers by phone or by email. Filming will continue in March and April.

High Noon Entertainment also produces TLC's Cake Boss and VH1′s Tough Love. Branson has been featured in episodes of House Hunters and Hotel Impossible among others and the movie "Winter's Bone" was filmed in the area.

Wish Comes True for Make-a-Wish-Foundation Child

Five-year-old Violet has undergone emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening brain tumor at the base of her cerebellum. Through hard work and determination, Violet learned to walk again and began kindergarten this year. She continues to receive physical therapy to improve her motor skills and MRI's every three months to monitor her condition.

Through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Barry Williams--aka "the real Greg Brady"--learned of Violet's wish. She wanted to meet Greg Brady -- "the real Greg, the one with the curly hair."

Barry/Greg not only granted Violet's wish but coordinated efforts of several Branson area businesses to give Violet and her family a real Ozark Mountain Christmas experience.

Violet and her family were invited to the Lunch With the Brady Bunch show in Branson. A special meet and greet with the cast was arranged for the family after the show.

Branson Limousine & Executive Charter offered to take the family for a Branson Christmas Light Tour in stretch limousine style. Big Cedar Lodge, Silver Dollar City, Shepherd of the Hills, The Haygoods, Voices or Glory, and Branson Area Festival of Lights/North Pole Productions also contributed to the event for the family.

"I am touched to be granting Violet's wish and also to belong to a community that truly cares and rallies to help others," said Barry Williams.

"We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Barry Williams and the entire Branson community. We are very grateful for this experience that our family will treasure for the rest of our lives," said Violet's mother Allison.

In addition to his role as Greg Brady on television's The Brady Bunch, Barry Williams has performed on Broadway and starred in numerous productions around the country. He has assembled a talented new cast of "Brady Kids" for his multi-media production specially created for Branson audiences, "Lunch With the Brady Bunch", The show headlined at the Yakov Theatre in Branson, MO during the 2012 season. Williams has announced that the show will move to the RFD-TV Theatre for the 2013 season.
