As the cats and I began our daily creek walk, the squirrels peppered us with acorns from the red oaks. I kept moving but, the cats stood at the base of tree and stared at the squirrels.
The recent rains combined with the hot/dry summer as led to an explosion of fungi. The path was littered with pearl colored fungi. The fallen trees had yellow, red, and white growths.
We stopped and enjoyed the tranquil moment before returning to Brookside Manor Bed and Breakfast and the guests.

The largest grape growing region east of the Rockies is in our backyard. As you travel the back roads of the Chautauqua Lake Erie Wine Trail the aroma of the harvest permeates your vehicle. Stop at the wineries and taste last years harvest and marvel at the miles of grape vineyards.
