Introduction
Shangri-La
Nelson House B & B overlooks a quiet garden and Barclay Heritage Square. Our 3-story, 1907 character home has antique charm, fireplaces and stained glass balanced by personal decor that doesn't take itself too seriously. We offer five spacious guestrooms and a self-contained suite in a wide price range. All are comfortable, convenient and whimsically dedicated to the allure of world travel. All are serviced with wireless internet.
From the front-porch bench overlooking our garden, you can quietly contemplate the day. It is only a ten minute stroll from the bed and breakfast to world famous Stanley Park - 1000 acres of majestic forest and beaches, strolling, bicycling and blading around the Seawall, tennis and other sports facilities, fine dining and the Vancouver Aquarium. We have a baby Beluga! Robson Street shopping is a 2 minute walk from the front gate.
Nelson House B & B has recently been recommended in the New York Times.
Nelson House B & B is close to it all. We know the best means to enjoy a bike around the park, a romantic dinner/boat cruise, kayaking, whale-watching, river-rafting or a day trip to Victoria and elsewhere. Between adventures, big and small, our living and dining rooms offer a comfortable mix of books, music, antiques and contemporary furnishings. We promise to share our personal sightseeing, dining and shopping secrets. Our fireplaces may remind you of a gentler era. Relaxation and friendly conversation will remind you that you are in a century-old home and not a hotel.
In the manner of every classic "B&B", we believe mornings are something to look forward to. Our full breakfasts are homestyle and healthy. For early risers, coffee, tea, juice & milk join a self-serve buffet of baked goods, cereal & fruits. Then, from 9 to 10:30 AM, we serve a hot entree that varies daily. Home baking, local and organic produce are our specialties. The guest house is non-smoking. We co-host with "Ozzie", our little Cairn Terrier. He visits the living room (to help with check-ins) only by invitation.

One of the fascinations of bed and breakfasts is the personal touch. We have all stayed in anonymous hotels - lamps bolted to the tables - only your TV for company. Wake up in a B & B and it should feel as unique as someone's home. At Nelson House B & B, your Canadian innkeeper, David, has traveled as a backpacker and lived abroad as a diplomat. His American partner, O'Neal, is a native Texan who immigrated to Canada's Pacific coast. While respectful of its heritage, we know that this century-old house now reflects us.
All of our lodgings are airy and bright. Well-rested guests often compliment
the quality of beds and linens. Every room is equipped with a hairdryer.

Cabin
The "Cabin" is where you sleep like a lumberjack and that's okay! Sit by the warmth of the stove in an old pine rocker, a mini-fridge for the beer, cable TV for the game - what more?
