| Markham House Bed and Breakfast is known as one of the best places to stay in the Sooke area. It is a tranquil oasis on a 10 acre country estate. Markham House has many of the attributes of a small resort, yet the romance of an intimate B&B. Only a pleasant 1/2 hour drive from Victoria, this charming guest house and secluded cottage is very close to hiking and cycling trails including the "Galloping Goose Trail". Be sure to visit nearby spectacular West Coast beaches and marine parks. Enjoy afternoon tea on our patio by the trout pond, or experience one of the fine restaurants in the area which include the famous Sooke Harbour House. |

Our garden is now twenty five years old and has a lovely variety of flora with a focus on native planting - the landscaping is particularly beautiful and with the new addition of a large green house the future looks even more interesting! Our Tudor style home is decorated in period style and features two delightful guest bedrooms, a luxurious suite, and secluded Honeysuckle Cottage. All rooms have views over the gardens and forested hillside and feature TV, VCR, DVD, Stereo, fireplace and wireless internet access from most areas. Each room has a private bathroom and is equipped with plush feather beds and cozy duvets. (non-allergenic variety is available on request.). Fresh flowers and evening turn down service is standard for all rooms. If you would like to arrange a special massage treatment, we will be happy to assist. Enjoy the spa experience in your room or cottage or outdoors in the Hot Tub gazebo by Victoria Massage or Clovercare . |

We welcome you to enjoy some of Sally's home baking at breakfast in the formal dining room. Breakfast times are flexible. If you have to leave very early to accommodate your travel plans we will be happy to pack you a little something for the trip. Start your morning with freshly squeezed orange juice, home made granola, delicious scones or muffins, (baked while you sleep), fresh fruit and homemade preserves. Our coffee and tea is brewed with the purest well water - you will notice the difference. The main course changes every morning - some days sweet and some days, savory. Delights range from Sally's special recipe for French Toast, or her buttermilk blueberry pancakes to tasty French omelettes or our own version of poached eggs "Benedict" with potato latkes and local smoked salmon. We insist on the freshest of ingredients, using eggs and vegetables from the organic farm next door and herbs from our own garden. Special dietary requests are easily accommodated. |
| If your dietary restrictions are severe, just let us know in advance and we will bring in the necessary provisions. You will certainly enjoy the company of your fellow guests-however, if you are staying in Honeysuckle Cottage or in the Garden Suite we will be happy to deliver full breakfast to your door. |
