Kids, and adults prepared to spoil their inner child, will find endless opportunities here not only to be entertained, but to learn as well (who knew learning could be so much fun!). Hiking trails that span not only mountain ridges, but history itself. Hot air balloon rides that soar over saguaros, desert washes and scurrying coyotes. Jeep tours that plunge into rugged backcountry, proving the Wild West is still alive and well. If these attractions sound like experiences that would take hours to reach from some distant way station…think again. They are all located right in Scottsdale's scenic backyard, the storied Sonoran Desert. Even with so many other diversions to choose from, shopping still ranks at the top of activities visitors to Scottsdale look forward to indulging in, and who can blame them. Scottsdale is a shopper's paradise with a special flair for objects that echo the city's unique Southwestern heritage, with everything from one-of-a-kind tribal objects to the latest trends from noted designers. Here, no one need go away empty-handed.
