This little hacienda was built in the style of Mexican country homes: a separate sleeping house for the very private guest rooms; a main house with the main dining room, and many gardens and covered patios. All the rooms are furnished with Mexican, Southwestern, Native American, or cowboy-inspired touches. Rooms are $120 per night, double occupancy. D

Healthy yet extravagant breakfasts start off with fresh fruit plates and hot wholegrain breads and end with Southwestern entrees and good coffee. Vegetarian and vegan cuisine are enthusiastically provided at your request. Breakfasts are served outdoors, weather permitting, on the vine-covered hogan patio. And everyone gets a tray of coffee, tea, cocoa, or juice left at their door a little while before breakfast. B

There are terraces where gambel and scaled quail, doves, sparrows of all kind, woodpeckers, towhees, thrashers, Black-chinned hummingbirds, hooded orioles, Northern Cardinals, Phyrroluxia and a myriad of other resident species are enticed to come in for a little seed, fruit, and fresh water.

Mi Gatita is inspected and approved by the Arizona Association of Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers, and has held membership for over
five years. Bentley and Jean enjoy spoiling their guests, helping them find the best restaurants and sightseeing spots.
Most of all, they love to introduce them to the wonders of the Sonoran desert.
