Things to Do & See
There are many activities and places to visit in the Flagstaff and surrounding areas. Here are just a few...
Museum of Northern Arizona - less than 1 mile from our inn - exhibits on the history, anthropology and culture of indigenous Native Americans. Great gift shop and book store.
Pioneer Museum/Arizona Historical Society - just a few hundred feet from your room at Conifer House, this compound reviews the history of our region's first white settlers. A working blacksmith and other demonstrations take place quite often.
Sunset Crater/Wupatki/National Monuments - 20 miles northeast of Flagstaff off highway 89. Lava cone craters and well-preserved Native American pueblo ruins.
Lowell Observatory - approximately 3 miles from Conifer House on Route 66 (also called a Santa Fe). This is where in 1930 the planet Pluto was discovered. Tours, lectures, slide show and stargazing are available.
Meteor Crater - Forget the movies and see the result of the "real thing". Just 40 miles east of Flagstaff on I-40.
Grand Canyon National Park - One of the seven wonders of the world, it is just 80 miles or so north of Flagstaff by car to the south rim.
If you just want to kick back and relax and not do the tourist thing, you can visit quaint shops, antique emporiums and great restaurants in the downtown area. And since there are over 300 days of sunshine a year in Flagstaff, many outside activities are available such as golf, tennis, hiking, mountain biking to name just a few.
And there is much more. For more information, you can visit Flagstaff's web site @ www.flagstaff.az.us or call the Flagstaff Visitor Center @ (800) 842-7293 or while in Flagstaff @ 774-9541.

Situated on the edge of the forest, Conifer House sits on more than an acre surrounded by towering blue spruce trees and dozens of aspens. It is newly built in the Craftsman/Bungalow style of architecture that was popular, especially in Flagstaff, around the turn of the century.
The inn has four distinctively different guest rooms that are decorated in styles that remind the innkeeper Lauren of some of her favorite places.
Each one of our rooms has a king-sized bed luxuriously dressed in soft 100% cotton linens, a ceiling fan, cable TV, VCR, private phone line, a romantic gas fireplace and a private bath. In that private bath, enjoy relaxing in a two-person Jacuzzi whirlpool bath and rinsing off in the separate marble shower. All rooms also have their own private outside entrance.
Your complete breakfast includes cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, one or possibly two freshly baked selections, and a main entree delivered to your table either in the main gathering room, on the rear patio or in the courtyard. Oh, and there's freshly ground and brewed gourmet coffee, too!
We are excited to announce the opening of our newest addition to Conifer
House. Just off the back patio we now have available for our guests the
"Game Parlour."
