Introduction

Abineau Lodge - Flagstaff, Arizona You're invited to stay at the Abineau Lodge (formerly the Arziona Sled Dog Inn), a country inn style bed and breakfast just south of Flagstaff, Arizona. We offer you a unique experience that you won't find inside the City limits of Flagstaff. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the City, the Abineau Lodge is a hidden treasure that's off the beaten path in the sleepy village of Mountainaire. We're far enough from the City so you don't hear any of the many trains that pass through the city center every day but close enough for you to enjoy Flagstaff's excellent restaurants and shopping opportunities. Come stay at the Abineau Lodge to enjoy mountain living at its best.

Featured in: Money Magazine, America West In-Flight Magazine, Arizona Republic, Phoenix Magazine,
Arizona Highways Magazine, Arizona Daily Sun, Frommer's guidebooks and on National Public Radio.
In addition to the extensive publicity the Inn itself has enjoyed, our Siberian Huskies
have been used as models in numerous international clothing photo shoots.

At the Abineau Lodge you can open the windows, smell the pine trees and listen to the breeze blowing through the branches. Watch elk browsing in the meadow in the early morning hours, listen to the Mountain Bluebirds, jays and finches that call the forest their home. Watch out for the porcupine that lumbers across the driveway at night - his quills are sharp! Watch our happy huskies playing in their yard and wake up to their joyful morning chorus.

We're sure that you will love staying with us. This is what mountain living is all about - trees, fresh air, wild animals, nature walks, relaxing on the deck, leaving the windows open to the night air, friendly conversation, comfortable reading chairs and hearty country breakfasts. You can't find that in the City. All of that and at a cost savings to boot! Our tax rate is almost 4% less than within the city of Flagstaff - that's a savings of $6 per night on a $150 room rate!

The Abineau Lodge - designed and built for mature travelers looking for a quiet escape, pleasant surroundings with a homey atmosphere. The warm natural hues of the 100 year old reclaimed lumber in the flooring, ceiling and handrails is complimented by earth tone walls, leather and Lodgepole furnishings and the golden glow of the living room fireplace. Our parlor room, dining room and living room provide a perfect venue for small corporate retreats, memorable weddings and relaxing personal holidays.

The Lodge has 2 meeting rooms, one up and one down that act as living rooms when not being used for meetings, retreats or seminars. Downstairs is a sunken living room with a vaulted ceiling, beautiful rock fireplace and raised hearth. The room is furnished with rocking chairs and comfortable couches. Off the living room is a redwood deck for watching the stars or enjoying breakfast in the summer. Upstairs is our other beautiful living room, equipped with flat screen TV (the only one in the house). Log frame couches and leather sofas and chairs offer comfortable but casual seating.

Wireless Internet available throughout the lodge.

Our dining room is bright and alive in the mornings. We serve breakfast from 8 to 9:30. The dining room has a two story vaulted ceiling and is furnished with log and pine tables and chairs. We serve breakfasts like mom used to make but with a twist. Our complimentary full breakfast includes an entree item (Chef's choice), our own homemade granola, breakfast breads, fresh fruit, juices, fresh roasted and ground coffee, a selection of teas, cocoa and hot cider. Old fashioned oatmeal pancakes with homemade applesauce, Hopi blue corn pancakes and Eggs 'n Croissant are favorite recipes that often appear on our menu. Sled Dog Family Suite

At the end of the first floor hallway there's a cozy and hot cedar lined European sauna. For Phoenix visitors a sauna often doesn't seem like an amenity but when the temperature drops to 45 degrees in the middle of a summer night you might find it quite comfortable and it's a definite must for relaxing after a cold winter day!

The best amenity of all is our proximity to acres of national forest lands and convenient distance from downtown Flagstaff and its almost constant train noise. If you hike or bike early in the morning the chances of seeing deer or elk are pretty good. In fact, many guests see elk from their own windows or as they return to the Inn late in the evening.

We Know Flagstaff and can send you on the proper journey, the good Restaurants, the places you should go.

Rooms for two are $129 to $159. Suites for 4 are $199 to $229. Rates include full breakfast.
Each room has its own full, private bathroom. All rooms are NON-SMOKING.
