Claytor National Park is situated in a 4,500 acre area of land; the lake is home to Claytor Lake which is where it gets its name from. Claytor Lake park offers lots of different types of activities which can be enjoyed in this park. There are several miles of trails for hiking; there are also swimming and camping facilities.

Both the lake and the park are named after the vice president of Appalachian Power, Graham Claytor. Claytor Lake state park is located a few miles away from Jefferson National Forest.

The O. Winston Link Museum is a fantastic location to check out if you're ever in the area. The museum is built inside a Raymond Loewy property. There are lots of photographs of the railroads and interesting history.

All of the images are interesting and they show just how difficult it was to construct the railroads. Many of these photographs have appeared in magazines and books.

Link's photographs are well-known and have been featured in many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum.

The museum is located in downtown Roanoke in the well-known historic rail area of town. This is an old area of town which still includes the Hotel Roanoke which was built in the 1800s.
