Visitors to their favorite Seattle Washington bed and breakfast in the Pacific Northwest can enjoy beautiful blooms as far as the eye can see and in a kaleidoscope of colors at The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival!
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
From April 1 through the 30, visitors to Mount. Vernon, Washington can witness the birth of spring in brightly colored blooms at The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Of course the tulips bloom according to Mother Nature's schedule and not ours, and the ideal time to stop by is around April 15, according to tulip growers in the area.
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a driving tour around the area. There is not one location to view the blooms, but many different fields totaling hundreds of acres of more than a million tulips, irises, daffodils, hyacinths, and more blooming bulbs....but the tulips are the star of the show!

Since 1983, The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival has celebrated the beauty of spring with people from all around the world who journey to the valley to view the spectacular array of color and to enjoy the other events that take place throughout the month of April during the festival.
Originally, the festival was as mere 3 days in length; however this posed a problem because no one could ever be sure when the bulbs would bloom. A few years later, the festival was extended to 17 days and finally, it was extended to the whole month of April and added art shows, concerts, wineries and cheese tours and of course, the bulbs. This year marks the festival's 30th anniversary and it is sure to be the best tulip festival ever!
