Dinosaur Land is a great place to spend a few hours of fun. This theme park is only about 20 minutes from your White Post Inn. Your children will love the many life-size dinosaurs. Rates can change, but as of 2011, they are listed at $4 for ages 2 to 10, and $5 for individuals over 10 years of age.

This fantastic 700-acre farm boasts over 8,000 beautiful trees and shrubs. Stroll along the lovely ornamental Boxwood gardens, or discover the Virginia Native Plant Trail. The herbal garden with its medicinal herbs is fantastic to see. Horseback riders and hikers can explore the picturesque 7.5-mile Bridle Trail. Admission is completely free. The farm is open for visitation every day.

The gorgeous Skyline Drive is just about an hour and 15 minutes away from White Post, taking approximately one hour to drive through, certainly making it worthwhile. If you have the time, hike on the nature trails or check out the many interesting exhibits at the Visitor Center. You can even go birdwatching in the meadows.

If you enjoy horseback riding, you will want to head on over to the JBiT Ranch. The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is just one of the many reasons to check out this ranch and ride along the trails. Get spooked by ghosts of all kinds with the "Haunted Halloween Ride" in the fall. The event usually ends with a gathering around the warm campfire where guests can toast marshmallows if they so desire. Around Christmas, you will often see these horses in the Berryville Christmas Parade.
