A 1,400-acre working farm, Shelburne Farms is a National Historic Landmark and quite a sight to see. It boasts a non-profit environmental educational center, along with walking trails, a children's farmyard, inn and restaurant. Take a tour of the farm or even get married here. Created in 1886 as a model agricultural estate by William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb, this farm has seemingly always been a part of the landscape in Vermont. Its woodlands are Green Certified from the American Tree Farm System, and the grass-based dairy features 125 Brown Swiss cows. The milk is used to make the farm's award-winning farmhouse cheddar cheese on site.
