The Fleming Museum is located at the University of Vermont. This museum opened in 1931 as a learning tool for Vermont citizens. Today it's home to over 20,000 paintings, sculptures and unique artifacts. This fascinating museum has almost 500 intricately wood carvings of birds on display. You'll discover over 250 species of birds known to Vermont. The carvings are life-like masterpieces from two very talented wood carvers. The carvers spend a great deal of time making each carving true to life and every detail is represented with care. After enjoying this museum, watch the birds through viewing windows. You may also bird watch while picnicking on the museum's grounds at nearby picnic tables.
