Perhaps the biggest of all Sugar Land events is the Mediterranean Festival. This festival was established due to the many people from the Mediterranean region of Europe residing in Sugar Land. The festival happens from October 23 to 24 yearly from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The festival features Mediterranean music, food and a carnival. Happening during summer break, the Hot Summer Concerts Festival happens every July and starts from 7:00 p.m. onwards. This is one Sugar Land event that features bands playing music from different genres. This festival is also very hypnotic, as people can do a little bit of street dancing as the music gets upbeat late into the night. The festival is supposed to end at 9:00 p.m., but it usually extends all the way to 11:00 p.m.

The Fish and Fun Event is a fundraising activity held by the Old Foster Community Museum. It happens annually during the first week of August. This fundraising event benefits the scholarship program and development projects of the community. It features an all-you-can-eat fish fry, auctions, raffles, door prizes and live bands. Everyone is invited to this one-day event. The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., so it will be best if you have a reservation at a Sugar Land Inn.

Sugar Land also hosts events for kids such as the Sugar Tri Kidz Triathlon. The event happens every second week of September and is another fundraising event set by the city of Sugar Land. This particular event benefits the patients of the Texas Children's Cancer Center. This particular event is attended by kids as well as visually impaired athletes. The event happens from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and usually involves a track and field relay and other activities to help the visually impaired athletes.
