When you have nothing much to do at your Winchester Bed and Breakfast, step out for a few hours and watch a movie at the historic Oldham Theater. It has two screens located on its two levels that feature different movies. It's been renovated, but the vintage look has been well preserved. You'll imagine that you're in the 1950s as you watch a movie with your family at this theater.
Harvey's Garden

Harvey's Garden was named in honor of Harvey Maxwell Templeton, Jr. When he died in 2003, his son Handly Templeton and his daughter Becky began keeping a watchful eye on the work done in the gardens. The gardens are constantly being worked on, with new floral plantings and possibly additional acreage. Located about four blocks from downtown area and close to your Winchester Inn, the gardens have no admission fee and are open daily.

Located just off Highway 50 going west of town, the 10,007-acre Tims Ford State Park is one of the popular outdoor Winchester atttractions. There are a lot of different activities that your family can enjoy while at the park such as hiking, fishing, boating and biking. The bike and walking trails are numerous and well-maintained, and provide a view of the lake as well as sunsets or sunrises. The park also has a bird sanctuary and a big swimming pool. The lake is considered the most picturesque one in the state, and one of the top bass fishing lakes in the Southeast.

The castle is a majestic one, with towers, a carriage house, underground tunnels, a huge hall and pretty gardens. Originally built in 1830 as the two-story plantation house of railroad tycoon Benjamin Decherd, it was restored by Arthur Marks and his wife, Mary Hunt of Nashville. It eventually became a 12-bedroom castle with stained-glass windows, velvet fabrics and draperies. Tours are on a reservation-only basis, as the castle is open by appointment. It was named as one of the 2008 Top Ten Most Romantic Castles in the World.
Old Jail Museum

Just within walking distance from downtown Winchester, the Old Jail Museum takes you back in time. It houses the memorabilia and artifacts from the Civil War, the two World Wars and pioneer eras. The museum also contains the memorabilia of Dinah Shore, a hometown girl who went on to become a popular actress. It is housed in an old brick jailhouse.
