Standing Stone State Park

Standing Stone State Park is located just west of Monroe, TN. The park covers 11,000 acres and is named for a rock which stood 12 feet tall, once separating the Indian nations. The park has amazing scenery and a full lineup of recreational activities to keep you busy. You can participate in a variety of sporting events, and there's even a recreational building open during the summer. There are over eight miles of hiking trails. Fishing boats and pedal boats can be rented for use on the lake. Fishermen love catching the bass, bluegill, crappie, trout and catfish in Standing Stone Lake. There are picnic tables and a huge swimming pool on the grounds.

Obey River Park and Recreation Area is located just east of Monroe. The park is located on Dale Hollow Lake and is known for its large sandy beaches on the waterfront. The waters are clear and there are a ton of things to do at the park. The day use area has a playground, restrooms, a ball court and picnic shelters. You can bring your boat and use the public launch to get in the water. The area is popular for all types of water activities, from fishing to canoeing. Day use areas close at 10:00 p.m. nightly.
Dale Hollow Dam Recreation Area

The Dale Hollow Dam Recreation Area is located just below the dam near Celina. The area offers great views of the dam, as well as excellent fishing opportunities. The waters are known for their rainbow and brown trout. This is a great spot for fishermen, with the fishing pier and fish cleaning station. You can enjoy a picnic and playground area or walk around the grounds along the lake. There is an aquarium and raceway nearby that are open for touring from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Spend the day at Dale Hollow before heading back to your Monroe bed and breakfast.
Donaldson Park Recreation Area

Donaldson Park is a smaller park in Celina. It attracts many visitors because of its abundance of wildlife and plant life. White-tailed deer and bald eagles have been known to make an appearance here. There are walking trails throughout the park as well as volleyball, basketball and tennis courts. Have a picnic or play on the playground while you're there. Picnic shelters have electric, water, fireplaces and grills. There is a public boat launch at the park for visitors to use. Pets are allowed as long as they're on a leash. The park is just down the road from your cozy Monroe inn.
