Bold Springs Off-Road Park is a 200-acre park in McEwen, Tennessee with hills, hollows, mud, gullies and many trails for off-road vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, and off highway motorcycles to explore. The park is open year round, and rates start at $10 for a one day pass, as of 2011. Passengers can ride for $10 each. You can call ahead to reserve your spot. Each person must sign a waiver of liability before entering the park. The trails require an easy to intermediate skill level.

Bucksnort Trail Ride is a fun place for the whole family to enjoy. It offers three rides a day along the beautiful Tumbling Creek. You can take a half day fast ride, half day slow ride or an all day ride, Monday through Saturday. If you find the colored horse shoes on your ride, you get a prize. There is live entertainment, games for all ages and swimming in the creek. Day rider fees start at $20 per person, as of 2011. Meals are available for $6.50. Ride the trails before heading back to your McEwen inn for the night.

The Loretta Lynn Ranch is a great place to spend the day. You can tour the plantation and see a coal mine simulation. There is also a replica of her childhood home on the grounds. Do a little shopping at her Western Store, the Plantation Shop and the Grist Mill Gift Shop. While you're there, take a tour of the frontier homestead, an Indian museum, and fan and doll museum. There are special events at the ranch, as well as appearances by Loretta Lynn herself from time to time. Adult admission is $12 as of 2011. Tours can be taken from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

The Nathan Bedford State Park, located just west of McEwen, Tennessee, was named for a Confederate cavalry leader who once focused attacks in this area. There are a variety of activities to be done in the park. Enjoy a day of boating, fishing or water skiing on Kentucky Lake. Two boat docks are available in the park, with no fee. There are many species of fish in the lake including bass, sauger, crappie, bream and catfish. 30 miles of hiking trails will keep you busy, with trails starting at a half mile long to 20 miles long. Bring your lunch and enjoy a picnic at one of the two picnic areas in the park. The museum at Pilot Knob will give you more information about the area. It is open from 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. daily. There are special events held in the park throughout the year.
