The Stumphouse Tunnel is a rare attraction that dates back to Civil War days. You can walk into this 1600-foot-long tunnel. It is 17 feet wide, and 25 feet tall. There is an air shaft in the top which allows airflow from the surface to flow through the tunnel. The tunnel was built to connect towns like Charleston to the raillway, which was important at that time. Walk down the wide, gravel trail to see Issaqueena Falls. The waterfall cascades down the rock about 200 feet and is worth the short walk. There are other trails and a picnic area for you to enjoy before heading back to your Westminster inn. The park is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
