Enjoy Exciting Lancaster Events & Festivals

During specific times of the year there are certain Lancaster events that take place that you won't want to miss. Many people often plan their vacations around these special events because it makes the vacation all the more memorable.

If you enjoy crafts or sewing this is one of the Lancaster events that you do not want to miss. The One Stop Shop Hop happens each year in February, but the actual date varies so you will want to check the date before arriving. The event is held at the USC Lancaster Campus in the Bradley Building from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost to get in the door is around $2, but parking is free. Inside the event you will find booths from all sorts of crafting stores and individual crafters, which allows you to shop for homemade crafts or sewing supplies that you might need for any type of sewing activity. There is even a gift basket drawing held during the event for one lucky winner.

The Red Rose Festival is one of the newest Lancaster events and will be held every year during the month of May. The Red Rose Festival is celebrated by the city of Lancaster in honor of the arrival of spring. You can find the festival in the historic part of downtown Lancaster and it will go on no matter what kind of weather. Aside from the entertainment, which there is a lot of it, there is also an arts and crafts open market along with many food vendors. There is also a talent show on the first night of the festival in which local residents can participate.

The Lancaster County Fair takes place for about five days during the month of October. At the county fair there are going to be rides for children of all ages to enjoy, but they can also enjoy all of that carnival food that is found on the midway. The county fair is also filled with various exhibits that you can stroll through, such as photography exhibits and even livestock. Located throughout the fairgrounds you will find booths housing many different vendors that are more than willing to supply you with information on what they are selling. Perhaps the best part of the fair is all of the different types of food that you can purchase while watching some quality entertainment. Make sure you leave your Lancaster Bed and Breakfast early so you can catch everything the fair has to offer.

If you are going to be in town during the month of October but miss the Lancaster County Fair you can head on down to Columbia for the state fair. Columbia is about an hour away from your Lancaster Inn. At the state fair you will be able to walk to look at a variety of exhibits that are being judged. There are also many commercial vendors on hand. Like all fairs there is the carnival rides for the kids to enjoy and all of the fair food that you can imagine.
