The community in Clatson County in the state of Oregon is home to one of the friendliest inns in the country. Established in 1994, the Arch Cape Inn is a great luxury inn on the Pacific coast and just a short 4-mile drive from Cannon Beach, a nearby beach town. Other than the restaurant facility at the Arch Cape Inn, there are no other restaurants in Arch Cape, but there are plenty of restaurants within reasonable driving distance from there, mostly in Cannon Beach. To make your vacation more enjoyable, BBOnline recommends the following nearby restaurants specializing in American cuisine: Mo's Restaurant, Ecola Seafood Restaurant and Bill's Tavern and Brewhouse.
3400 South Hemlock Street
Cannon Beach, OR 97110
After just 6 minutes south on the Oregon Coast Highway (US 101), you will find Mo's Restaurant. Mo's Restaurant also has locations in Lincoln City, Otter Rock, Newport and Florence, but BBOnline recommends the Cannon Beach location not only because of its proximity to the Arch Cape Bed and Breakfast, but also because it is one of the locations that maintains the recipe for the clam chowder as close as possible to the original recipe from Mo's Restaurant founder, Mohava "Mo" Marie Niemi. The must-eat dish at this restaurant is, of course, the clam chowder. This clam chowder's biggest claim to fame is that when Senator Robert Kennedy stopped by at Mo's Restaurant during his 1968 presidential campaign tour, the Senator liked this clam chowder so much that he purchased 2 full buckets of this soup to take back home. Even though Mohava passed away in 1992, her daughter, Cindy continues the tradition of this authentic American cuisine establishment.
Ecola Seafood Restaurant
208 North Spruce Street
Cannon Beach, OR 97110
This nearby Arch Cape Inn has been in business since 1977. When visiting this restaurant, it is a good idea to call ahead because the operating hours change depending on the season. During the summer, Ecola Seafood Restaurant opens daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while during the winter, it opens daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and during the Spring and Fall, it opens daily from 10:00 a.m. until the owners call it a day. Owners, Cindy and Jay, curate an ever evolving weekly menu depending on the daily catch. This means that you will always eat what's fresh and in-season. Local favorites at this restaurant include the Fresh Oregon Troll Caught King Chinook Salmon, and the Wilapa Bay Oysters and Steamer Clams.
Bill's Tavern and Brewhouse
Last but not least, this is another great option to eat within short distance of the Arch Cape Inn. Bill's Tavern and Brewhouse is a good option for those travelers who enjoy micro brews and craft beers. The food quality could be a bit better, but this is a tavern after all. Food is made fresh daily. The big plus at this tavern is the local, homey atmosphere, which draws regulars every single night. The service is a bit slow, so don't come here if you're in a hurry. The best nights to visit Bill's Tavern and Brewhouse are Thursday nights because there is live folk music. The most popular item on the menu is the fish stew.
