Strobel Field was dedicated as Sandusky's high school stadium in 1936. The stadium was top of the line for that time period with its seating capacity, press box, locker rooms and more. The stadium has become a part of Sandusky's history, and will undergo some major renovations as well as a name change to Strobel Field at Cedar Point Stadium. So stop in for a soccer or football game and check out their latest improvements for the 2011 season. There are special events held in the stadium throughout the year.

Cedar Point Amusement Park is the main attraction in Sandusky. It is best known for its roller coasters, which have set records through the years. You can ride one of the park's 17 coasters, or one of the other thrill rides. Soak City has 18 acres of water rides and pools for the family to enjoy. There are areas specially designed for young visitors and live shows with a variety of entertainers. There are many food choices and snack carts available throughout the park. Regular admission for the 2011 season is $46. Soak City tickets are an extra $31.99 per ticket. Spend the day at Cedar Point before heading back to your Sandusky bed and breakfast.

The Goodtime I is a 117-foot boat that takes island hopping cruises on Lake Erie Tuesday through Saturday during the day. It also offers special evening cruises on Tuesday and Friday nights. You can rent the boat for your own party or special event. This is a great way to explore the area and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Daytime cruises leave at 9:30 a.m., and arrive back in port around 6:30 p.m. 2011 adult fees are $27 per person. Many cruises sell out early, so call ahead of time to order your ticket.

Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum brings the history of Sandusky alive. It is located close to Lake Erie, just down the road from your Sandusky inn. You can view exhibits on shipwrecks, boat building, fishing and even boats used for the Underground Railroad. There is a gift shop with maritime memorabilia. The museum is open from June through August from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It's closed on Mondays. September through May, it's open Friday through Sunday. Adult admission is $4.
