Snappy Lunch was established in 1923, and it's one of the oldest Mount Airy restaurants. It became famous after it was mentioned on the Andy Griffith Show. Andy Griffith was a native of Mount Airy, and he had frequented the restaurant when he was a young man. Other celebrities who have visited here include Oprah Winfrey and Lou Ferrigno. The most popular item on the menu is the Pork Chop Sandwich, a delicious piece of grilled boneless pork, topped with condiments such as coleslaw, chili and others. Goober’s was formerly known as Ray’s Restaurant, and it is one of the most popular Mount Airy restaurants. The décor of the restaurant is a little complicated, with weird items hanging on the walls, but overall, it offers a great environment for casual dining. The main attraction of the restaurant is the food, and you will find lots of unique items on the menu. Some of the dishes that you should try include the Baltimore Chowder, the Fried Oyster Salad, Lobster Sandwich and Chicken Farfelle.
