Boulder Dash is an expert ski slope that is ideal for competitive skiers. Boulder Dash is located at the top of Sugar Mountain and offers amazing panoramic views. The slope has many sharp curves and leads directly into Upper Flying Mile. Upper Flying Mile is an intermediate slope that is a welcome break for skiers who have gone down Boulder Dash. After a long day of skiing, staying at a cozy Banner Elk Inn is the best thing to do.
Sugar Slalom is a competitive ski slope located on Sugar Mountain. Skiers who are looking to engage in slalom ski competitions will often train on the Sugar Slalom slope. Although the run is short, it runs directly into Upper Flying Mile. While Upper Flying Mile will take you to the base of the mountain, many people will take a chairlift back up to the top of the mountain to get more practice on the Sugar Slalom run.

Upper Shawneehaw is a beautiful intermediate slope, located at the top of Beech Mountain. The slope is relatively straightforward and ideal for good skiers. The slope has a a few tricky turns, and then turns directly into Lower Shawneehaw. From here, most people take Lower Shawneehaw to the beginner freestyle slope. If you are a beginning skier, starting on the freestyle slope might be your best option.
Upper White Lightning
Upper White Lightning is an expert ski slope, located at Beech Mountain. Although this slope is for experts, it does offer the best views of the region from Beech Mountain. The run goes directly under a chairlift and funnels you into Lower White Lightning. This run will take you down the entire mountain until you get to the exclusive play yard.
