The River Station is Poughkeepsie. Situated on the Hudson River between two amazing bridges, with views that inspire, the restaurant is the oldest continually operating food and drink venue in the city. And it happens to be one of the most affordable waterfront restaurants in Poughkeepsie. The River Station prides itself on its freshest of seafood and award winning chowder, but the steaks are unbelievably delicious and can be combined with shrimp or crab at a nominal fee. Sitting outside on the deck is the place your will want to be, weather permitting. The cozy indoors provides privacy and intimacy as well.

This Italian American restaurant in the heart of Poughkeepsie and probably steps from your cozy Poughkeepsie bed and breakfast is a must-do for those who love Italian fare that is reasonably priced but delicious. While the linguini with clam sauce and five-layer lasagna are Italian classics, Amici's also likes to experiment with their entrees a bit with such tempting dishes as Italian-style paella and filet mignon with gorgonzola and apple and lobster mashed potato. For those with less of an appetite, there's great pizza and paninis too.

It could be music with a tenor singing Irish ballads, or it could be a good time for all those enjoying the Guinness, whatever.
