Montgomery attractions bring in many visitors to this town in Orange County, New York. Montgomery is also the name of the village in this town. The town was named for General Richard Montgomery, who died for the Patriot cause during the American Revolutionary War.

A visit to this museum takes your family back in time when the farmer built his own house and grew whatever food that his family needed. One of the historic Montgomery attractions, the museum exhibits artifacts used by farms and memorabilia. There are different events monthly like a harvest fest and a car show.  The museum is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Just a short drive from your Montgomery Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful house built by Nathaniel Hill in 1768. It later became the Brick House Historic Museum. The house has not been restored to what it was when it was originally built, but it retains the changes and renovations done by seven generations of the Hill family who lived in the house. The museum is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from mid-May to mid-October.

One of the most beautiful scenic golf courses located on 85 wooded acres is the Winding Hills Golf Club. With a softly rolling terrain, a game on the 18-hole, 2,595-yard par 57 USGA greens takes you through flower gardens, wetlands and stone walls that line the fairways. This course was designed by Steve Esposito. Unwind at the Winding Hills Restaurant after a long day. The course is open April through November, from 7 a.m. until dusk.

Hoeffner Farms is a family-owned and operated farm that grows and sells different types of herbs, potted plants and farm fresh vegetables. The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Different seasons bring in different crops such as sweet corn, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, potatoes, squash, pumpkins, gourds and leeks. Some of the produce are sold at the NYC Union Square and at the Middletown Farmers Market. Take some fresh produce back to your Montgomery Inn that you can buy from the farm.

One of the Montgomery attractions that is sure to bring in art lovers is the Wallkill River School and Gallery. It features different activities and exhibits all throughout the year such as local author book signings. There is a program where different businesses can lease original artwork from artists which are represented by the school for a nominal fee per month. This non-profit artist's cooperative runs the full art school.
