Hudson has grown as an antique mecca and with it come wonderful restaurants and other boutiques to tempt visitors. Plan on staying an entire day at this shopping paradise.

J C Penny, Filene's, and Target are among the anchors at the Hudson Valley Mall. But there are many other shops that this nearby mall has to offer. A short ride from Kinderhook, the Hudson Valley Mall offers an upscale interior, numerous stores and restaurants and seven cinemas. You will certainly want to wander from your Kinderhook b&b to check this mall out and make some great purchases on sale items. Make sure to visit Rolling Rock for great Tex Mex and more.

Crossgates Mall

One of the largest malls in the area, the Crossgates Mall features upscale stores as well as a Walmart's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Target. You'll also find a Bally Total Fitness and Macy's there. A large number of small boutiques rounds out the shopping as well as several eateries of note, including several chains, but also local restaurants, such as Hoolihans and Cajun Café.

A newer, but less hectic, mall, the Colonie Center has legions who swear by the assortment of stores and restaurants. Convenient to the suburbs of Albany, this mall features anchors such as Macy's and Kay Jewelers. Numerous restaurant chains are found there as well as more independent restaurants such as Bombay and American Café. This mall is a little less high pressure and more relaxed than others in the area and that alone makes it a great destination.

The Stuyvesant Plaza is another upscale mall in the Albany area that offers a tremendous range of stores and restaurants, including organic fare and designer clothing stores. It's convenient and very high tech, with restaurants including Provence, serving authentic French food and Eats, a gourmet restaurant featuring locally grown foods and house platters. Stores such as Hippos and The Rugged Bear make this mall a definite must-do for any visitor to Kinderhook.
