Taughannock Falls State Park and Gorge Trail
Southern area of Rte 89 on Cayuga Lake, 8 miles N of Ithaca
Taughannock Falls Park offers breathtaking views of the 215-foot waterfall that plunges through rock walls of almost 400 feet. The falls are attractive year round, and can be viewed from many locations, including the ¾-mile trail. Summer concerts are performed on the lakefront.

Ithaca offers lovely settings of vineyards with panoramic views of the valley, ponds and gardens for guests to enjoy. One of the many popular wineries is the Six Mile Creek Vineyard on Slaterville Road in Ithaca. One-hour and two-hour narrated tours are available with Tiohero Tours. Reservations are necessary for the two-hour cruises, but not for the one-hour tours. The Floating Classroom, an eco-cruise with a variety of educational themes, is offered usually every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm from the month of June until October, and makes a great outing from your Ithaca Inn. A donation of $5 to $10 is normally suggested. In addition, the Haendel is equipped with special equipment for lake research.
