You can't get more affordable than free. So head to the fully-renovated Clinton Historical Society Museum Room in Andrews Memorial Town Hall. Through exhibits, artifacts and photographs, learn all about the history of Clinton. Its permanent "Clinton: Pathway to a Town" exhibit explores the vast history of the community, from its first settlers to advances in the past century. Take a closer look at Clinton's role in transportation, war, business, social organizations and education through gallery exhibits and hands-on activities.

These three properties, operated by the Clinton Historical Society, are also great resources when finding out more on the town's history. The George Flynn Library features photos, genealogical material, diaries, papers and books on Clinton, from its very beginnings to modern day. It's located behind the 1750 Elisha White House, the oldest brick house along the shore from New Haven to New London. Sea Captain Elisha White purchased the home in 1750, which now showcases a colonial herb garden and American portraits hailing from the 19th century. Open only in July and August, the nearby Buell Tool Museum offers early tools and machines used by one of the first settlers of Clinton, the Buell family.
