The Desoto County Museum is located in the county seat of Hernando. Featured in the museum are exhibits and artifacts tracing the history of the country, starting from 1541 with Hernando DeSoto and continuing to what Mississippi is today. Admission is free but all children must be accompanied by adults. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, and it's not far from your Olive Branch Bed and Breakfast.

Cedar Hill Farm is a 120-acre family-owned farm in Hernando, Mississippi. Take your family and experience the peace and tranquility of farm life. The farm has 1,000 blackberry plants and you can pick a few yourself or buy them already picked. The Cherokee Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole par 72 course with a challenging game for all player levels. The course features 6,751 yards with an intimidating 78 bunkers and 11 lakes, but very wide fairways. There are practice facilities with two putting greens, a chipping green and three-tiered driving range. The clubhouse looks like a lodge and gives a sweeping view of the 9th and 18th greens. Whether you're playing or just hanging out at the clubhouse, it provides a relaxing atmosphere.

Even though you have to travel about 20 miles from your Olive Branch Inn to Hernando, the chance to see different animals and interact with them is worth the visit. Admission to the park is free.
