In winter, enjoy more than 12 miles of cross country skiing, or in summer take a canoe exploration on Sable River and a hike along the extensive trail system that winds through the forest. With almost 6 miles of Lake Michigan coastlines, Ludington State Park is a stunning opportunity for relaxation when looking for a weekend away from your Ludington Bed and Breakfast. A Visitor Center is available to guests and open seven days a week throughout the summer. There is a small gift shop located inside. For an overnight camping adventure, Ludington State Park offers 344 campsites that fill quickly. It is recommended that advance reservations be made. Tent and RV campers will find the convenience of a store, swimming pool, laundry facility, showers and games. When pitching a tent, choose a rustic site or one with modern amenities.

When Ludington State Park does not have any open camping, Buttersville Camp Ground is a wonderful alternative. Located on the peninsula of Butterville Park among the bluffs that overlook Lake Michigan. The campground has access to the beach, and offers shower facilities, electric hook up and fresh water. Reservations are not accepted. First come, first serve only. Open during summer months.

If fishing is your hobby, Lakeview Campsite is the perfect choice amogn Ludington campgrounds. Situated four miles north of Ludington on the shores of Hamlin Lake, fishing is a preferred sport, with more than 5,000 acres of the Lake to explore. Catches include walleye, bluegill, muskie, northern pike, perch and more. Lakeview has three campsite areas, one located on the shores of the Lake. Fish freezers, convenience stores, laundry rooms, playgrounds, swimming pools and games are found at all sites. Reservations accepted, and limited boat docking available.

When spending a night from your Ludington Inn, Laman's Landing is a family friendly option for you. The campsite is first rate with outsized, shaded lots, all with full hook ups. Also found are clean toilet and shower facilities, a heated indoor/outdoor pool, store, laundry, games, tennis courts, playgrounds and more, which include paved walking baths and boat launch.

Cartier Park Campground is situated on Lincoln Lake. Water, electric and sewer hook ups are available for RVs, and everyone has access to a playground, shower facilities, deep hiking trails and paved biking paths. Cartier Park Campground is within a miles of Ludington State Park for additional hiking paths; also close is Pere Marquette River with great canoeing, weekly outdoor concerts in nearby towns, and sprinkled everywhere in between are locally grown fruit and vegetable stands and antique and craft stores. Ludington campgrounds are wonderfully serviced and Cartier Park Campground is among them.
