According to DownEast Magazine, this museum (the largest children's museum in New England), is the "Best Rainy Day Hideaway" for children and families. The three floors of the building offer seven interactive exhibit galleries on a wide range of subjects, including natural science, music, geography and art. This amusement park has the fastest go-karts on the East coast, 10 batting cages, a rock climbing arcade and remote-controlled pirate boats the kids will love to sail on a pond filled with rainbow trout. The highlight of the park is its 36-hole mini golf course which offers the most challenging adventure golf in New England, making the park a must for your Bangor travel itinerary. If your family likes skiing and snowboarding, Hermon Mountain is close to downtown Bangor. The area offers magnificent views, a tubing park and some great slopes to whiz down. The grooming is consistent and the snow making system efficient. On a thrilling tube ride, you're pulled up a hill by a handle tow and once on top, you can slide down one of the five tubes. Night skiing facilities are available, and it's all very affordable.

Located in downtown Bangor, this park hosts the famous Anah Shrine Circus in the spring (April and May). The circus is ideal for family fun. Every year in late July and early August, Bangor wakes up to this huge state fair held in Bass Park. Some of the things you and your family can enjoy at the fair are concerts, a backyard circus, a petting zoo, midway rides and games, fireworks, great food and harness racing. New additions to the fair are the "Maine's Got Talent" show and the tiger show featuring lovable Bengal tigers. Apart from entertaining the public, the show aims to educate people about this endangered animal. The star of the show, Nina, even does a Michael Jackson moonwalk!
