They are just up the road from Sunset Park, which has a public boat ramp and wooded area with a picnic area, walking trail and other amenities. Sunset Marina has a 35-ton travel lift which can set your boat on land if you have trouble. Stop in at the marina for fishing information and any boating needs you may have. During peak season, they open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. during the week. On weekends, they close at 4:00 p.m. They are closed for 30 minutes during lunch and closed for certain holidays. Credit Island is located on the southwest edge of Davenport in the Mississippi River. The island was once the site of a major battle against the Indians during the War of 1812. Today the island is a park that offers a variety of activities. You can play golf, soccer and several other popular sports. You can also ride along one of the bicycle trails or just have a picnic. This island is a great spot for birdwatching and fishing. There is a freshwater lake on the island, or you fish right off the shores of the Mississippi.
