Chicago Restaurants: 3 of The Most Famous Pizzerias

When looking for Chicago Restaurants, one can never go wrong by checking out Chicago's most famous pizzerias. Right after deciding on which Chicago Inn to make your reservation at, you should already start planning which pizzerias to visit in Chicago. Here are 3 reasons why. Chicago is the home of the original deep dish sytle pizza, Chicago houses the favorite pizzeria of a U.S. President, and Chicago has the best pizzeria/microbeweries in the country.

This is the only Uno Chicago Grill pizzeria in the heart of downtown Chicago and it is the Pizzeria Due. There are many locations for this popular U.S. pizza franchise but this is the place where it all started. Visiting the Uno Chicago Grill location at the corner of Ohio Street and Wabash Avenue is to take a trip back in time. Since 1943 this restaurant has been making the famous Chicago deep dish style pizzas with large quantities of fine meats and tasty spices. The Pizzeria only serves deep dish pizza but it serves really well. Most customers only wait for 10 minutes for their pizzas because they are required to make their orders at the time they put their name down for a table. The Pizzeria Due only takes reservations from Monday through Thursday.

The Italian Fiesta Pizzeria was a well kept secret by locals until President Barack Obama announced that this pizzeria is his favorite place to grab a slice. From that point on, visitors to Chicago head to the Italian Fiesta Pizzeria, right after checking in at their Chicago Bed and Breakfast. The Italian Fiesta Pizzeria has 3 locations around Chicago: South Shore, Hyde Park/Kenwood and Chicago. BBOnline suggests that you visit the one at the South Shore at 71st Street. This restaurant has been managed by the DeCarlo family for over 60 years, maintaining a traditional family style atmosphere. The hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Besides the pizza, another must eat is the Italian beef and sausage hot sandwich.

First opened in July 2001, the Piece Pizzeria and Brewery has been racking up awards for both its New Haven style thin crust pizza and microbew style beer. Everything about this pizzeria is eclectic. Starting from the fact that the space used to be the garage of a roofing firm to the 11 big plasma TVs all around the place to the highly selective reservation process of the pit and stage sections of the pizzeria. When visiting the Piece Pizzeria and Brewery make sure to pair your pizza with the one of its 2006 World Beer Cup award winning beers. The atmosphere at the Piece Pizzeria and Brewery during a football game night cannot be matched, just make sure to arrive early because seats go fast and reservations are limited on game nights.
