Rock City is one of the best known tourist attractions in the area. It was developed in 1932 and instantly became popular. It's lured many travelers to the top of Lookout Mountain just to take a look and find out exactly what it is.

Tourists really like the top of Lookout Mountain because it has some brilliant and amazing views. Rock City Gardens is also called simply Rock City, as this is the common name. This has been an extremely popular attraction for as long as anyone can remember.

The location is a fantastic photo opportunity, with many people spending time posing in front of the weird rock formations. New attractions were added as well, including holes which were cut into the rocks to become fairy caves. Fairy tale characters are placed inside these caves to act out certain stories. Rock City is known almost all over America and in the 1960's it was even featured on the cover of Life Magazine. More attractions have been added over the years and even though the original founders died some time ago, it still remains family owned.

Recently there have been a number of improvements to Rock City Gardens. A lot of the old fashioned signs have now disappeared. There is also an improved parking lot and a website so that you can find information before booking your Lookout Mountain Bed and Breakfast.

A lot of the buildings are old and stone built, which makes this an even more special experience. The admission prices are reasonable and allow you access to a trail which is approximately a mile long. It walks through various rock formations of interest. Some of the paths are a long way off the ground, but there are alternative routes if you don't feel comfortable with heights.

The rock formations are interesting and unique which make Rock City well worth the trek. There are also plenty of other things that you can see and do while visiting the Lookout Mountain Incline.
