During the month of July, visitors can experience the Centennial Indpendence Day, celebrated each year. The city-sponsored event features activities for all ages, including food, live music, a parade and beverages. Before you retire to your Mount Dora bed and breakfast, remember to stay around just a little longer for the annual fireworks display at dusk. The parade portion of the event starts at 10 AM. The remaining festivities last from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Athletes staying in a Mount Dora inn will enjoy participating in the lively Annual Bicycle Festival. The Festival features more than 1,000 cyclists from all over, and takes place during the first week in October.
Additional Mount Dora festival events that take place during the fall include the Annual Craft Fair, Light Up Mount Dora (an annual holiday lighting event), and the annual Mount Dora Plant and Garden Fair. The Mount Dora Garden Fair takes place at Simpson's Cove in Downtown Lakefront and features a vast selection of plants and flowers to include roses, begonias and more. This Mount Dora festival takes place every first week in November.

Mount Dora festivals continue into the winter months with several exciting events planned. Following the Light Up Mount Dora event, there is a lively block party known as Christmas Walk. Christmas Walk takes place every first week in December and features music and vendors for shopping. The hours of the Christmas Walk are 6 PM to 9 PM.
The Christmas Walk is accompanied by the Annual Christmas Parade. BBOnline recommends this holiday event because festivities will include a boat parade at 7 PM in addition to the regular holiday parade. The Christmas Parade and Boat Parade will provide great fun and festivities for out of town guests.

During the months of January and February, Mount Dora festivals are still in heavy swing, providing a great opportunity to learn about the local culture, while offering a host of entertainment. The first week of every February will bring visitors the popular Annual Art Festival. It features close to 300 national and world renowned artists showing their work from 10 AM to 5 PM throughout the Downtown area.
Additional festivities in February include the Annual Mount Dora Music Festival. It features an array of artists with music backgrounds in jazz and other styles. The event takes place every second week in February. A popular event for the Mount Dora area, guests will enjoy the variety of top performers who are scheduled to entertain at this event. The concert series takes place at different locations throughout the city.
