Jacksonville restaurants serve some of the finest American food around. While you're staying at a charming Jacksonville bed and breakfast, make sure you take the time to sample some of Jacksonville's greatest American food at these restaurants. American food, often called continental food, caters to the many palates across America. At the restaurants listed below you'll find dishes originating in New Orleans side by side with fish caught off the coast of Washington state. If you're looking for burgers and fries, you may want to see about lunch menus at these restaurants, because most of them don't have a dinner sandwich menu. Many of these restaurants encourage reservations, but a call the day before (or, depending on the day of the week, the day of) should guarantee you a seat.
A note about dress codes: Florida is typically more casual in dress than other areas of the country. Unless otherwise noted, the dress is casual. In Florida, this generally means you must wear a shirt and shoes (as well as some sort of bottoms). If you're unsure about acceptable dress, please contact the restaurant directly.

In the spirit of American food, Dwight's serves everything from ravioli to marinated and grilled quail. While many Jacksonville restaurants serve American cuisine, the ambience and the food of Dwight's bistro make it worth the drive. If you're looking for something fancy while you're staying at a Jacksonville bed and breakfast, consider trying the Wine Cellar, serving American cuisine since 1974. This elegant restaurant caters to the consummate foodie, down to every detail. Instead of traditional vegetables like broccoli and carrots, expect veggies like bok choy and asparagus. This doesn't mean that the Wine Cellar doesn't have traditional American cuisine; that's its mainstay. Its chef, however, prepares these dishes with an unusual flourish. The Wine Cellar serves lunch and dinner and you can make reservations online. Dress here is slightly more sophisticated than Florida casual.

Located at marker 32 on the Intracoastal Waterway, Marker 32 serves traditional American food on the water - literally: the building stands on stilts over the Intracoastal Waterway. Marker 32 does an excellent red snapper, but they also serve quail, ravioli, steak and southern-fired seafood. They also have a better-than-average selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Marker 32 serves dinner only. Please call the restaurant for hours.
