While Custys is synonymous with buffet, you can also eat a la carte here and get just what you want. The buffet is enormous and, since Custys prides itself on its seafood, contains lobster, shrimp, fish and other creatures from the ocean. In fact, the seafood buffet is 60 feet long. You will also find steaks and chops at a separate buffet that offers veggies and salads, too. And there is a separate dessert bar. The buffet is fairly expensive since there are a lot of big eaters who like to drop by, but the a la carte items are priced to please. The restaurant has been in business since 1963, although it has moved its location since then.

For instance, the seafood fried noodles seems to be the perfect dish with lobster, scallops and shrimp mixed beautifully with noodles and veggies. Those with a passion for meat will be happy with the extra crispy duck that is a house specialty.

This restaurant in nearby Stonington is on the harbor and mainly caters to those who love the wonderful offerings from the sea, including lots of lobster. Not only does the lobster roll shine here, but there is a hot lobster sandwich with cheese and drawn butter to tempt even those who say they don’t like shellfish. And you can have your lobster without the shell if you'd like, which many diners say is a real extra. You can eat inside or out depending on the weather, and it's only a short ride from your North Stonington bed and breakfast.
