The Loveland Ski Area provides families with a variety of resorts that work for all different levels. If you plan on snowboarding, be sure to check with the resort to ensure that they are allowed. Here are some recommendations for you.
Loveland Ski Area
Interstate 70 Exit 216
Georgetown, CO 80444
The Loveland Ski Area Resort is the first one to open for the year, and as an added bonus they allow snowboarding. During the season the resort is open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. While skiing or snowboarding you will want to wear layers of clothes; this way you can take them off or keep them on depending on the weather. Being two miles above sea level, you always need to wear goggles or sunglasses that have UV protection. The UV rays are stronger on the mountain than in town. If you don't have your own equipment you can rent some at one of the two rental shops at the bottom of each base. This resort has runs for every skill level and is located a short distance away from your Loveland Bed and Breakfast.
19285 Highway 103
Idaho Springs, CO 80452
If you're looking for a new place to ski that is close to the Loveland ski area, Echo Mountain is a great place to go. Echo Mountain provides skiers and boarders with plenty of runs to choose from based on skill levels. If you are looking for a resort that has a lot of freestyle terrain to enjoy yourself, this is the right place for you. You can even participate in a freestyle program so you can learn new moves. These classes are available every Saturday for snowboarders and Sunday for skiers at 1:00 p.m.
Eldora Mountain Resort
2861 Eldora Ski Road #140
