Trevor's Pub is one of the more popular San Rafael bars. It is housed in a 1927 structure that used to be the San Rafael-Richmond Ferry Ticket Office. The bar has been referred to as "San Rafael's living room" because of its authentic fireplace and cozy atmosphere. The bar has an extensive range of wines and beers that you can choose from. It's open from 11 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. Monday to Saturday and 2 p.m. until whenever the last patron leaves on Sunday.

The Flatiron Sports Bar is known to have some of the best bar food in San Rafael. You can just walk from the San Rafael Inn you're staying at and spend time watching any of the 10 TV sets that feature football, soccer, baseball, basketball, rugby or NASCAR. There is a wide range of drinks to choose from at this bar. Some of the drinks available are Kenwood Sauvignon Blanc, Boliemer Ker, Midori and Snapdragon Cabernet, to name just a few. Although it is one of the more luxurious San Rafael bars, BJ's Restaurant and Brewery is ideal for the whole family, and has a special menu for kids. Highly recommended are their deep dish pizza, half pound Angus burgers, giant stuffed potatoes, garden fresh specialty salads, pasta favorites and gluten-free pizza. All of these go well with BJ's handcrafted beer, such as the Belgian-style wheat beer which won the North American Beer Awards Gold Medal. The restaurant and brewery is open 11 a. m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
