Known for its "solid play," scenic views of Point Pinos and the lighthouse, as well as the Pacific Ocean and the Spanish Bay, the PG (as it's referred to), is probably the most affordable in the country, especially when you consider its great seaside location. Walking is a joy here and the sound of the surf is soothing, while the sea breeze makes golfing challenging.

Built in 1932 the classic Pacific Grove golf course has an old world charm yet a modern focus on nature and sustainability. What's more, you'll see sand dunes, deer, sea otter, maybe even Canada geese and Pebble Beach is just about five minutes away. Golfers love the pace of play here.

Yes, this award-winning par 70 course of less than 6,000 yards isn't easy, but it's not too difficult either. It has a driving range, practice greens and the food in the clubhouse is cheap and delicious.

The PG, ranked by Zagat Survey as one of  the best golf courses in America, is worth playing during your Pacific Grove Bed and Breakfast stay.

There are chipping and putting greens and you're made aware of the environmental significance of the area with some parts designated as "environmentally sensitive."
