The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is one of the Nevada City events you should not miss. This festival is dedicated to environmental films in America. It's organized to inspire and motivate people to protect the environment. It has been around for over 25 years and is one of the more popular Nevada City events. You can book the tickets only if you get to the venue. There are around 60 films that are shown during this festival. It takes place around the second week of January. Get a room at a Nevada City Inn and enjoy the festival to the fullest.

If you wish to catch this market in action then plan a trip to Nevada City in the month of June. It starts early at around 8:00 a.m. and goes on till 12:00 p.m. The atmosphere is highly entertaining with live music and stage performances. You can have your breakfast at any of the food stalls and then stroll around the market to view and buy some fine local items.

Nevada City takes its storytelling seriously, and hence this is a widely celebrated festival. It attracts people of all age groups. Enjoy the warm stories and the folk tales of the region. The festival takes place in an outdoor setting, surrounded by pine trees, a campfire and a small stage. The festival is held for three days in the last week of July.
Mardi Gras Festival
The Mardi Gras Festival is another popular event in Nevada City. It's organized by the Chamber of Commerce and is held in the month of February. The whole town awaits the famous Mardi Gras parade which goes through the downtown area. You will also be able to take part in the Masquerade ball after the parade. The ball starts at 8:00 p.m. and goes on till midnight.
