South Coast

The South Coast in Mendocino County is lined with sandy beaches, parks and cozy coastal towns. These small villages that line the coast are filled with culture and activities. Enjoy the lighthouses, historic buildings, shops and eateries in towns such as Point Arena, Anchor Bay and Gualala. Walk one of the trail heads off Schooner Gulch Road that leads to one of the beautiful beaches on the South Coast. There are live performances, exhibits, shops and natural wonders to enjoy before heading back to your Little River Inn for the night.

The North part of Mendocino County is known for its huge redwood forests and mountain peaks. As you explore the area, be sure to visit the Smithe Redwoods State Natural Reserve. Enjoy the beautiful redwood trees, a 60-foot waterfall, picnic area, fishing and swimming. Call the park for more information. The North part of the county is also famous for the Skunk Train, which is a restored, working steam engine. Travel the county by train and see the amazing views and wildlife that abounds.
