The James H. Hornibrook Room
The exquisite original master bedchamber, this 18' by 24' room is furnished with a rare 10 1/2' queen size half-tester Renaissance Revival bedroom suite in mahogany. The romantic sitting area includes a fireplace with hand painted tile, and a verse from Milton's "L'Allegro", done by Mary Leicester Wagner for her brother. Nestle in a rare soaking tub from the original bath. Marble sink basin and "water closet" commode finish a room "bathed" in the soft glow of camellia pink and green.
Queen half tester, fireplace, sitting area claw foot tub and shower.
Per Night: $195.00
John Edward Murray Room
Named for the youngest brigadier general of the Confederate Army and an Arkansan.
This tower room mini-suite boasts an antique Austrian king size bed in walnut with matching marble topped end tables and washstand with roomside Victorian sink and Pullman bath with shower. Hues of gray-blue and brown lend this room an air of dignified serenity as the bed nestles behind portieres and tassels and overlooks the front fishpond with fountain. Victorian parlor setee and chair ring the fireplace for that quiet romantic getaway for two.
Per Night: $165.00
The Eliza Bertrand Cunningham Room
Room This light and airy room reflects the hope and potential of the first Caucasian female resident of Little Rock, and mother of the first white child, Chester. A queen size four poster bedstead graces this cozy room with Victorian love seat and chair sitting area. Light rose and violet create a warm and delicate feeling hard to achieve without 14' ceilings and dark oak antiques. Pedestal sink with shower in pullman bath surrounded by a collection of seashells from a Victorian summer by the sea.
Per Night: $130.00
The Petit Jean Room
The legend of Petit Jean, the French girl who couldn't bear to see her love sail away to the new world. She sailed unbeknownst to him, as the cabin boy, and was undiscovered until sickness claimed her life, on the banks of the Arkansas River. Filled with relics of military and sea regimen, the Petit Jean room reflects the strength required to leave family for a world unknown and the softness of the love that inspired the courage. Done in dark walnut, the ornately carved high backed Empire queen bed is in striking contrast to the romantic blues and whites of the sitting area and the roomside marble sink. Pullman bath with shower. Definitely a room for lovers.
Per Night: $140.00
The Washburn-Welch Room
Named for Presbyterian ministers who evangelized Arkansas in the 1820's and preached the first sermon west of the Mississippi. Escape to the solitude of this spacious octagonal room finished in shades of French Aubergine and green, complimented by a French walnut king sized bed, that can be converted to twin sized beds, and lace at the windows. Recall the treasures of a past era in the travel worn hump back trunk or curl up in a cozy Victorian settee. Explore a cherished history in the old family bible or reflect on a favorite psalm, a balm for the soul. The claw foot tub invites a soak which would have been "sinfully" wasteful in 1820.
Per Night: $180.00
