Introduction
The Baker House is located in downtown North Little Rock's historic Argenta district. This gem of Argenta is a setting for ornate, curly pine woodwork, and a central circular staircase and elaborate oak mantles. The exterior features include a 3 story tower, fountains, gardens, and even a hitching post for our horse riding guests. The house is decorated with Victorian antiques and period pieces. Each bedroom suite has its own private bath with some featuring fireplaces and claw foot soaking tubs. Every morning breakfast is served in the formal dining room on period china, and in the evening guests are offered a variety of snacks and beverages from the butler's pantry.
The Baker House is an exceptional Queen Anne Victorian house built in 1898-1899. It went through several owners before being restored in 1977 and was then placed on the National Register of Historic Structures in 1978. The house was then given new life as North Little Rock's first bed and breakfast offering a pleasing mixture of Southern Hospitality and Victorian elegance.
The Baker House Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located in the center of the Argenta Historic District within two blocks of numerous restaurants and bars and across the street from one of the finest Italian restaurants in Central Arkansas, Ristorante Capeo. Cregeen's Irish Pub is an authentic Irish pub built in Ireland and serving Irish fare, two blocks away. Argenta Seafood Company is a wonderful seafood restaurant specializing in fresh seafood served in unique and new ways. Argenta Seafood is located less than one block from the Baker House. The Baker House is the only bed and breakfast located on the Central Arkansas River Rail Trolley Line that services the Little Rock River Market district, the Clinton Presidential Library, Statehouse Convention Center, and Alltell Arena.
In 2007 the Baker House Bed & Breakfast was voted by the readers of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette newspaper
the winner of the Best of the Best competition in the Bed & Breakfast category for all of Central Arkansas.

The Baker House is managed by its innkeeper, Guy Mayhan, who resides on the property and is available on a 24 hour basis. The Baker House was purchased by the Millers in 2005; the Millers updated the landscaping, furniture and reopened the Baker House as a bed and breakfast after a nearly 2 year hiatus.
