- Eureka Springs boasts four seasons. Each distinctive, yet mild. Because of this, couples are able to enjoy outdoor activities year round. Eureka Springs Weather
- Belle of the Ozark Tour Boat. Tour pristine Beaver Lake. Enjoy a narrative tour given by the Captain and his first mate wife. If you prefer a bit more rugged adventure, consider a canoe trip down the Kings or White River.
- Rural Eureka is the perfect setting for horseback riding. Tucked outside the city limits are many ranches where you and your sweetie can spend the afternoon trail riding, including Hidden Valley Guest Ranch, and Dinner Bell Ranch.
- Maybe pack a picnic lunch and drive out to Lake Leatherwood. It is considered the largest city park in the US. It has over 15 miles of mountain bike/hiking trails, plus boat rentals, fishing, swimming, and a gorgeous view off the dam. Lake Leatherwood is a great place to hike the forested trails at dusk. Holding hands at the dam at sunset, revealing the beautiful reflections of the hills and clouds in the water.
- Eureka boasts over 100 natural springs. Pay a visit to Crescent, Grotto, or Harding Springs. Each of the Springs is nestled below huge stone cliffs. These smooth rock formations provide the perfect canvas for flowering plants. The resident arborist has carefully placed beautiful flowering plants in the natural nooks and crannies of these mammoth walls of stone. Each Spring is surrounded in a park-like setting and equipped with benches for contemplation and reflection.
- Tour downtown Eureka Springs by foot, bike, or trolley. Our trolley system, Eureka Springs Transit, recreates the principle mode of transportation in early Eureka Springs. There are more than 100 stops on the route.
- The Great Passion Play, performed in an outdoor amphitheater. This epic drama is of The Greatest Story Ever Told. Performed nightly during the months of April through October.
- If time permits, visit St. Elizabeth Catholic Church through the belfry (the only way) just outside the church, and visit the "energy vortex" in the gardens.
- No trip is complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride through historic Eureka. Not only is this a visual feast but an entertaining one. Narrated by your host and driver with tales of the past and present. Tours provided by Olden Days Carriage and Southern Pride Carriage Tour.
- The perfect ending to a day of romance, evening strolls in the dusky light. The amber glow of downtown lights up Spring Street through the winding avenues lined with stately and glorious Victorians.
Unique Shops, Gallery Walking, Restaurants, Bars and Pubs
If you can't find it in the shop you entered, the shopkeepers will do their best to call their neighbors and find it for you. Shops host one-of-a-kind appeal and unique gifts for all. Not only are the shops quaint and romantic, but the galleries are as well. The readers of American Style magazine have selected Eureka Springs repeatedly as one of the "Top 25 Art Destination". Eureka galleries host many world-renowned artists.

Our restaurant fare is as diverse as the residents who live here. You can find Indian to Italian. Big steaks to seafood, and, of course, there is no shortage of watering holes.
Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse and the Grand Tavern are favorite haunts for dinner. You will find an old-fashioned romantic atmosphere where you will spy guests holding hands across the candlelit tables. Magical views from the Crescent's rooftop bar: Sipping a glass of wine or martini. Bars, bistros, pubs celebrate a cross section of unique brews to the eclectic array of the music from Bluegrass, Jazz, Reggae, and Rock. Dancing under the stars or sitting outside tucked in between towering rock walls and listening to great music at New Delhi. Or maybe a warm welcome, cozy "let's play footsie" table seating and hearty "ArkMex" morning fare at Oasis. You can find it all here in Eureka.

Historic Eureka
Take one of the two romantic walking tours of our "Victorian Village". Historic Eureka Springs is on the National Register of Historic Places. It includes more than 100 restored Victorian buildings. The village of Eureka has the largest collection of Victorian architecture in the Central U.S.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has selected Eureka Springs as one of 12 communities in the U.S. as a Cultural Destination. The criteria: well-managed growth, a dynamic downtown, a commitment to preservation, interesting architecture, cultural diversity, and "walkability" for residents and visitors.
Spas and Bath Houses
Lavender and eucalyptus oil is always in the air. Wash away the stress of life in one of the many spas here in town. Some facilities host couples' rooms where couples can have spa services done at the same time. Baths, massage, full-body scrubs, and facials, just take your pick. Endless Array of Activities
- Eureka Springs offers an endless array of activities for all visitors. Plan to visit the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge wild big cat preserve and sanctuary. That's right - lions, tigers and even a bear! The sanctuary is an adoption center for large cats that have been abandon by their owners. It is through the generous donations of visitors that the refuge stays open. Don't miss this one.
- Abundant Memories Heritage Village - Come take a walk back through time as you explore 25 picturesque shops and homes that make up this 10-acre, 1700-1800's historical village. Every building is full, displaying an enormous collection of thousands of authentic antique artifacts.
- Eureka Van Tours - A two hour narrative tour of Historic Eureka Springs. Visit the Thorncrown Chapel, Christ of the Ozark Statue, Historic Loop and it's Painted Ladies, East Mountain Overlook, Home of Carry Nation, Rosalie Tour Home, and Historic Springs and Gardens. 479-981-1559
- Blue Springs Heritage - The largest spring in Northwest Arkansas, recently named to the National Register of Historic Places, has an output of 38 million gallons per day at its peak. There are 33 acres of beautiful gardens, plants, and blooms.
- Eureka Springs and North Arkansas Railway - Step back in time to an earlier age of locomotive transportation and enjoy the Excursion Train or the Dining Car. Enjoy the elegant flavor of the 1920s aboard the Eurekan Dining Car. You dine on perfectly prepared cuisine as the clickety-clack takes you back.
- Quigley's Castle is the dream home of Elise Quigley (1910-1984). Her grandchildren invite visitors to wander through her perennial garden of over 400 varieties of flowers. The garden paths wind around secluded benches, a lily pond, and birdbaths up to her home, which she beautifully covered with stones that she'd collected since childhood. See how she found a way to sleep in treetops full of bloom. Tropical plants grow in the natural soil of the first floor and brush the ceiling of the second floor. She has a butterfly, fossil, crystal, arrowhead, and glassware collection beyond imagination.
- If the weather is too warm and sunny and you need a break from the world above pay a visit to Onyx Cave and Cosmic Cavern.
- Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down Music Theatre and Pine Mountain Jamboree - If you love top-tapping music, then you don't want to miss the Hoe-Down or the Jamboree. Both venues are favorites by the locals. It's down home family fun, featuring: Bluegrass, Pop, classic Country, and a little bit Rock and Roll. Both shows offer good old American family entertainment. Highly recommended.
- Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point is a unique festival. Opera in the Ozarks has earned the reputation of being a prominent training program for singers. One of the most picturesque spots in the south central U.S., Opera in the Ozarks is located seven miles west of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on scenic Route 62. Inspiration Point is a look-out site situated atop Candy Rock Mountain between the beautiful White River Valley and Beaver Lake.
- Shakespeare in the Park is a fitting end to summer festivities. Held at the Basin Park, generally to standing-room-only crowds. Last summer visitors enjoyed productions created by John Merritt and his talented professional players, "Theatre Squared", they are based in Fayetteville.
- War Eagle Mill Visit an authentic working working water-powered gristmill. The mill is a historical reproduction. Created to provide a taste of nostalgic reminiscence of the pioneering spirit. During the spring and autumn, the War Eagle fairgrounds are the site of the War Eagle Arts and Crafts Festival. This is not to be missed. For you crafters and antiques collectors you will find a plentiful selection of collectables and treasures to take home with you.
